If there’s one thing we all hate, it’s watching the beautiful glass on the shower door begin to show signs of impossible-to-remove soap scum and hard water stains. Don’t lose hope! It really is possible to make your shower glass as shiny as new again, even if it’s been years – and you may be able to do it with a homemade shower glass door cleaner.
Picking a Shower Glass Door Cleaner
When you go to the store looking for a cleaner to cut through the built-up scum and hard water stains there are numerous options, some on the inexpensive side and some pricier. The question is, which one will be most effective at removing the stains from your door? The severity of the problem may depend on just how hard your water is, how much build up has occurred over time, and what kind of cleaning routine was followed in the past. Before you try a shower glass door cleaner from the store, why not try a homemade option first?
Make Your Own Shower Glass Door Cleaner
You can make your own shower glass door cleaner out of easy-to-find household products. One of the easiest, and most effective, is a 1-to-1 solution made by mixing Distilled Vinegar with Dawn dish soap.
Warm the vinegar in a microwave for about 1 minute. Then mix in the Dawn dish soap thoroughly and let it cool. Pour it into a spray bottle and coat the glass with the mixture and then let it sit for 30 seconds to 1 minute and wipe down. You’ll be amazed at how easy it is to clean!
